Postpartum Doula
Postpartum doulas provide families information and support on infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from childbirth, infant soothing, and coping skills for new parents. They might also help with light housework, fix a meal and help incorporate an older child into this new experience.
As a parent myself, much of my knowledge comes from my own experiences. As a trained postpartum doula, I offer evidence-based information and assistance to compassionately help you meet your baby's needs, care for yourself, and ease your transition to parenthood.
My goal is to help each parent feel secure, supported and satisfied while connecting with her baby during the first few joyous, wondrous, hormonal, exhausting weeks after childbirth.
Services include:
Assistance with light organization and housework
Light meal Preparation
Caring for the baby while mom naps, showers, etc. (Note: an adult other than the doula must be present at all times)
Advocacy/ Referral for community resources
Supplemental care education
Assistance with breastfeeding (we will refer to an IBCLC if the issues are beyond our scope)
